Excellent movie, but the story is a translation of the years of C'eravamo Tanto Amati di Ettore Scola from the end of the war years to the 80ths - probably the Fontana of Trevi scene is a citation - excellent casts too. The Giulio character is very similar to Vittorio Gasmann's character, and Gemma reminds me of Stefania Sandrelli - I presume when representing friendships in the movie, of course, Italian film, the comparison is with the masterpiece of Ettore Scola dated 1974 - enjoyable watching, and well directed - it is a pity that most of the Italian comedies of these years are pretty shallow, not in this case.
