Barnaby Jones: Wipeout (1976)
Season 4, Episode 22

Unintentially funny episode...

Warning: Spoilers
This is a ridiculously silly episode that is actually rather funny despite the grim subject matter. Jeff Conaway, the blonde-haired guy that later portrayed 'Bobby' on Taxi,is the main character in this wacky episode. Conaway's character is named Taylor and he is a surfer with an odd relationship with his sister. Apparently something happened to their parents and the brother and sister are both a bit strange. The sister raised Taylor and he has a real problem with his temper amongst other problems. Surfer Taylor is a good-looking guy that has no trouble with attracting women admirers. Apparently, the problems start as soon as Taylor is alone with these young women and things start to get heated. Taylor doesn't seem to know exactly what to do when women start to get physical with him and he ends up getting quite flustered. When a young woman gets rejected by Taylor she doesn't take it well. She says several rude things to him and he loses his temper and kills her. Things get more complicated from this point. Stories don't add-up,and others start to die. The crime is eventually figured out by Barnaby Jones, but as is usual on this show,it is solved on the flimsiest of evidence of a sort that would be laughed out of any courtroom. The whole episode is pretty silly and rather unintentionally-funny throughout. For believability I rate the episode low,but for overall entertainment it is pretty high for being unintentionally funny and silly despite the grim topic 8/10 overall.
