Not only were the ads more plentiful than time spent presenting the awards, but the show was not streamed live across time zones. Spoiler notifications removed the joy of seeing the spontaneous reactions winners/non award recipients.
Not everyone has the means to watch streaming services so the show's high volume of ads was lost on the few that tried to sit through them in wait for the next award. I will not be watching next year, unless significant changes to improve the broadcast for public consumption anre made. And, that's saying something as I love seeing the industry appreciate the efforts of those that entertain.
