A woman named Jane (Joan O'Brien) arrives at the Petrie home and asks for Rob. He's not home but Laura is and they talk a bit. It seems that Jane was a friend of Rob's in high school...and they used to act in plays together. A bit later, Rob arrives and sees Jane from the back. Her hair is very similar to Laura's and Rob kisses her...before realizing his mistake! Not surprisingly, Laura is jealous...but her jealousy becomes worse when Rob agrees to coach her and ready her for a tryout on "The Alan Brady Show".
This episode is a pretty good one, though not among the funnier ones. It also made me think that perhaps the conniving Jane might have been based on someone...who knows?! Regardless, it's reasonably interesting and Jane sure can sing...even if she's not exactly the nicest woman on Earth.
