Failed to make me laugh
24 April 2023
Back in 2019 comic-con, when kevin feige announced thor love and thunder with taika watiti returning as its director, i got very excited because i loved thor ragnarok very much. My excitement got doubled when Christian bale was announced as the antagonist marking his comeback in comic book genre after a decade.

Coming to positives, the biggest plus point was Christian bale as gorr the god butcher but he got very less screentime. Natalie portman who was absent in ragnarok returns in love and thunder as jane foster and her comeback was meaningful. Some visuals were good.

Now the biggest issue i have is that despite having so many jokes and gags none of them made me laugh. Ragnarok had several laugh out loud moments but i didn't even chuckle once at the jokes. Thor character is being made a joke film by film underestimating his might. Taika watiti fails to balance comedy and emotions, hence the final product turns into a mockery instead of parody.
