(2009) Jack Squad
CRIME DRAMA
Written and directed by Simuel Denell Rankins with Kennedy (Dawn Halfkenny), Dawn (Onira Tares) and Mona (Patshreba Villegas) agreeing to enrich themselves by going after "already" married men, and stealing their money and jewelry, while each one are asleep, as a result of drugging them. The name "Jack" is a slang for hustling married men of their cash, agreeing to call themselves "Jack" Squad hence the title. Spoil As soon as Kennedy hustled a guy named Smooth, it was soon revealed that Smooth is not who he portrayed himself to be, and that he was actually working in the drug trade. The bag of money Kennedy jacked or had hustled was actually drug money he was supposed to return. Motivating the leader of that gang to suspect that it was one of the 3 ladies of the "Jack Squad" who stolen it. At gunpoint, Dawn gets kidnapped she gets threatened by the leader of that drug gang to bring or return that bag of money she knows nothing about, since Kennedy chose not to reveal this to her Jack Squad friends. Except that during Dawn's interrogation, the gang leader would then get her hooked into some drugs making her to do extreme things like shoot and kill people like Mona's abuser.
Again, although, this is super low budget with second rate performances, I was able to tolerate this as a result of the not losing focus in terms of the story line and for that it warrants a pass.
