This one should be called The Joker and the Bandit.

Tom Bowdry (Cesar Romero) is a gambler turned stagecoach robber. He has been accused of murder but the ever charming Bowdry protests his innocence.

The locals want him lynched. The local sheriff wants Bowdry to stand trial at a nearby town called Borrego.

The trouble is how to get Bowdry there in one piece. The sheriff has an answer when Branch Taylor (Burt Reynolds) arrives. He claims he can transport people to anywhere and everywhere for a few bits a mile.

However Bowdry might have already made his own plans to escape justice. A woman shows up also wanting to go to Borrego.

The story has several lapses of logic. Branch mistrusts the woman but still manages to lose his gun.

For the most part this is a nice comedic episode. Romero has some killer charm. Reynolds is a natural in light comedy action. There is a star in the making.
