The Story of Us (2019 TV Movie)

If this doesn't give you Valentine's vibes...

This movie really appeals to me, although like others have shared, it's not going to differ from the usual formula of HM movies. The two leading actors (Page and Lawson) are excellent, with Page being a veteran of movies I've loved already (Christmas in Rome, with Lacey Chabert). His appeal is consistent, quirky but not irky. Lawson is a person I don't recognize myself, but she easily fit into this role.

This movie brings that cozy, hallmark familiarity with a lot of feminine visual beauty - the paper decorations, the unique props (I spotted a stone planter, a woman's 'face' with flowers placed inside - sounds odd, looks cool, i'm doing it in my place!).

I also found the other co-stars appealing - the side story of the two friends that date/unite is pretty adorable.

The story is not unfamiliar, and reminds me of the holiday movie with Alicia Witt, "Christmas Tree Lane" - but the characters are more subtle and less overt in this movie, which i love.

What this movie is not: overly sappy, overly try-hard, incredulous, child-centric (not a bad thing, but def. Not a trait of this movie), or set in a ski resort. These are the factors lately that have made me feel a little less interested, because I must have cabin fever - but no more snowy cabins and no more country-song background music please!

Speaking of music: best cover EVER of "take on me" by A-ha!

Enjoy this for what it is. Bonus: the orange cat with massive eyes and an especially adorable face-washing scene. <3.
