When Chandler's boss Doug invites the Bings to spend an evening with him Monica is adamant that she can't possibly get through an evening with this guy. Chandler tries to make excuses but when Doug won't take no for an answer, Chandler lies and says he and Monica broke up. Doug says, "I'm not surprised," then claims he could sense no love with the two, but on the contrary sensed lust from Monica.
Sam McMurray's Doug is splendid. A gifted actor at comedy.
The other episode stories are also funny, but I really thing the Doug storylines are really good. Schwimmer of course is superb .... as his relationship with Mona moves forward he freaks out at the idea of a joint-holiday card but ends up relinquishing a key to his apartment.
