Rogue Heroes. A boys own adventure. Raffish soldiers on a path to glory. The SAS no less! If the first episode is anything to go by then I'm disappointed. Of course there is creative licence for entertainment sakes but this drama cuts up reality to shreds and makes it into a fantasy universe where soldiers disrespect their superiors without consequence, assault colleagues without restraint, disobey orders at whim and live a James Bondesque life in the outposts.
I welcome any drama that fizzes with spirit but I'm afraid SASRH is too absurd to be taken seriously. The SAS deserves more respect than this nonsense. I admire the set pieces though.
As something which has become too regular for the BBC it's another throwaway drama that will barely register on the list of good productions in years to come.
