Review of Selfie

Selfie (II) (2022)
5/10
great abilities curbed by a few issues
8 September 2022
Selfieeee, what an eye-opening story! It's unbelievable how sharp the human brain is that people can make money out of almost anything, even school admissions.

The film was packed with great abilities curbed by a few production issues

DELICIOUS

-We hear about people selling admission seats to students and in Selfie, we got to see the full extent of this business. Shocking is an understatement; honestly, this could be akin to drug trafficking 😳

-Mathi Maran provided a comprehensive understanding of how brokering works so much that there's no way to be lost or left behind in the narrative.

-Selfie loudly demonstrated the luring, vicious, and fatal path that the love of money leads to. It was interesting that despite facing great dangers, some brokers couldn't quit their job as they became addicted to it like a drug...We were warned!

BLAND

-G. V. Prakash Kumar and Gautham Vasudev Menon are fine-looking gentlemen, but beauty aside, their performance was sooooo shallow.

They could have taken Selfie to greater heights had they lost grip of their stardom to blend in their roles...All we saw was the swag and repetitive facial expressions

-The storytelling was moving really fast, even though we understood where it was headed, we just needed some minutes to digest some scenes

-In general, Selfie was unveiled in a rather ordinary way: the story began in media res, then the usual heroine and company of friends, coupled with business fraud. There weren't major components to keep us focused.
