Great episode.

A sniper is seemingly targeting victims at random, leaving a playing card at the scene. Tony's health takes a turn for the worse.

What a brilliant end to series four, this is one of my favourite episodes from the show. Tony's illness adds an extra layer of complexity to the case, but the crimes themselves are so complex, so twisted, crimes that really make you think.

So many poignant moments here, I never forgot the scene with The Priest, and that powerful moment where Carol breaks down.

As the gunman chooses their victim from a distance, it's a seriously chilling moment, one that makes you think just how fragile a life is, how easily someone could commit the most appalling crime.

It's if course notable for being the last episode to feature Carol Jordan, and that's a shame, Norris is terrific here. The scene where Carol speaks to Tony about his illness, it's a hugely moving scene.

Excellent.

9/10.
