Forever Knight (1992–1996)
10/10
An all-time classic...

I first saw the show sometime in the late 90's. I watched every episode and later again, whenever I got the chance. These days, with modern streaming services, it is much easier, since I can watch it whenever I want to. For those who speak english: Watch it in English, because some jokes / puns z won't work if you're watching a translated version.

What makes the show one of my absolute favorites ist the "realistic" part of the show. The main characters have to deal with everyday problems like racism, drug abuse, murder,... but also disabilities, Aids, medical research,... or "banalities" like burocracy, being overworked or frustration.

It also makes vampirism more believable, since it combines supernatural influences / explanations with medical / physical approaches. Things like immortality, supernatural strength and flying... put aside, it could just as well be a story about a detective suffering from XP, EPP or a similar disease, which would also cause him to avoid daylight. The vampire storyline adds just what it takes to make it a more exceptional sort of crime show. This is a thing that got a little lost after the 2nd season, when it shifted more the the supernatural side.

I too hoped for the show to continue (in the 90's) but after more than 20 years, chances got very slim.

I'd say that the show will always be worth watching it, because it's well made, entertaining and timeless so to speak, because the basic elements of the stories haven't changed much in the last 50 years and I'm quite sure they won't for at least another 50.

It also makes you think about some things in life (if you follow the stories more closely) like family, friends, politics, and many others.

Bottom line : Watch it! Most of you won't be disappointed.
