Beautiful film but I honestly couldn't get over the plot hole of WHY the King decided to have his daughter come to the place at the same time he's doing mad science time.
If he had to bring his secret daughter to the Palace to marry her off so he has the money to afford the mad science stuff, fine. But he just happens to have these two plans going in at the same time? Whyyyy? Also, his relationship with her is kinda of creepy. I wish this had gone full "A Cute for Wellness." It had the vibe but not the execution of a horror movie.
Also, the end message is creepy ("we achieve immortality through our kids"). No, children are their own people. I like that he didn't kill his daughter, but the overall message is weird. I feel like the King learned nothing.
