What A Fun Holiday Surprise!!
25 November 2021
I was scrolling through Tubitv's Christmas offerings and came across Discarding Christmas. I was intrigued. I couldn't find very much information about it and with only two reviews on IMDB that were wildly polar opposites, they didn't help much. But, something about it, the location of the movie, Leitchfield, KY, made me want to give it a go. It's not everyday you see a movie set in an odd little town like that. I'm so glad i did!! Discarding Santa is a charming found footage holiday movie that the whole family can watch. The premise of the movie is the town council has decided to ban all use of Santa in public and private property and that includes just saying his name. This leads to some predictable outcomes and some unexpected outcomes as well. I won't say anymore, except this isn't a big budget Hollywood production. It's pretty obvious the movie was done on a shoestring budget. But the filmmakers really managed to accomplish things with Discarding Santa that some big names never do and that's tell an interesting story. Kudos to Director Bob Maze for a job well done.
