The underrated Richard Egan, Jane Russell, Lori Nelson and Gilbert Roland star in this fairly exciting adventure film directed by John Sturges, who would go onto make Gunfight at the OK Corral et al; Underwater features some good characterisations, especially by Egan, who plays a deeper character rather than a macho one. This is all interesting, however it's the underwater sequences that eclipses every thing else with its dreamy quality. Just imagine watching this on the big screen!
