Less than 60 days from the original airing of this episode 9/11 happened. We rushed into the war 'in the sandbox' shortly thereafter. The young man who dies at the beginning of the episode was deployed in Iraq, something that hadn't happened yet. The previous conflict in Iraq had been 10 years earlier and we never had bases there until after 9/11.
