A decent preschool show, but could've done better
13 September 2021
I know this series has gathered a lot of hate during the past few months, but if you ask me, All Engines Go is the perfect genre of preschool revival; taking a very cherished property, toning down its' characters to appeal to the target audience (even if some might be scared), and providing a Sesame Street kind of feeling where the series' most popular characters live, work and play together while learning life's most important lessons along the way. Not only that, but the guy behind it all, Ricky Suvalle, seems genuinely passionate about the franchise's legacy and, despite the executive meddling from his superiors, supposedly knew it well. Although this series wasn't created purely from the crew's respect, Nelvana's animation feels alive, carefree and reminds me of Mixels for obvious reasons. Again, I get that you probably want this to die, but we'll have to live with it for a while, and in the end, all I have to say is this: All Engines Go is okay, but it probably won't last long.
