Friday the 13th is a horror classic that deserves to be seen by all fans of the genre and of legendary serial killer Jason Voorhees. The film is really surprising for its little pretense, however pleasant and interesting result. Before criticizing the film "for this or that", it is worth remembering that it is from the 1980s; "megas" special effects were not yet the custom, nor were the most sophisticated scripting and client-taking techniques. The film really lacks some aspects of rhythm, acting, script; but who cares? Given the magnitude of witnessing "the birth" of serial legend Jason, the piece really lives up to the premise - perhaps one of the most consistent films in the saga. An ode here, mainly, to Betsy Palmer, who embodies a fantastic Pamela Voorhees, worthy of being remembered for generations to come.

Film viewed on the 29th to the 30th of August 2021.
