Roy Kinnear makes his debut as George's no good builder friend Jerry. The writers belated realised that they should had used him more in the spin off George & Mildred.

Jerry has persuaded George that he can convert the house into bedsits and make more money.

George uses Mildred going away to stay with her sister as an excuse to evict the trio. Although Chrissy soon finds out that George has not given enough notice to leave.

This leads Jerry to use emotional blackmail. George is going to bring her mother to stay with her from an old people's home. Even though she has been dead for a few years.

It looks like Robin, Chrissy and Jo could be all going their separate ways.

There are a lot of amusing moments. A discussion of the superiority of the male brain. Robin compares great male and female writers. Jo thinks Evelyn Waugh was a woman.

Chrissy gives Robin a hard time at chess. Jo somehow comes up with all the right moves.

The great Roy Kinnear was in his element here as Jerry. He really bounces of well with George and Mildred just knows Jerry is trouble.
