I've seen and loved all the CC roasts and Jeff's Roast Battles. So it hurts me to say Hall of Flame was mostly terrible and I had to turn it off quite a few times out of boredom.
The top 100 list itself was just not credible and I became increasingly disappointed as the top 10 and finally the number 1 moment rolled around. It took me mere seconds to think of a dozen Jeff Ross or Jimmy Carr jokes that were absolutely savage and should have made the top 10. Specifically Jimmy's joke about Pete's dad roasting in 9/11 was so brutal nobody in attendance dared to laugh. Yet everyone at home like myself is laughing their heads clean off because nobody is looking.
This is roast comedy, not "generic stand-up comedy". So the people who made the top 100 list don't seem to know what they are doing.
My next gripe revolves around the commentary, which basically made zero sense. First of all, anyone with half a brain would have bothered to get some of the people from the actual roasts. Besides Host Nikki - we'll get to you later.
We did get a small taste of what could have been when a couple commentators managed to give us some extra inside info about this or that or fleshed out the moment some more. But those were few and far between. And who are these nothing-burger comedy commenters?? Yes, we know a few are staples of the roast circuit, but you seriously couldn't get Jeff Ross to say anything AT ALL for your silly top 100 list?? Or maybe Ann Coulter, haha!? Really a poor effort all around. I've seen better from nobody Youtubers.
Finally, Nikki deserves some credit for being chipper on camera, but beyond that it was a pretty weak effort by either her or the writers that told her what to say. By the end I just got the feeling this entire escapade was maybe just another futile attempt to land Blake before all her eggs shriveled up.
