My overall rating of "Peaky Blinders"'s Season 3: 3/10.

The episode starts with Thomas looking at a bonfire as the camera zooms in. Eventually he jumps to his feet and starts walking to the right, but the camera is too close to him now, so it ends up looking a bit awkward, as the actor's afraid to hit the camera with his arm. This small moment characterises the rest of the episode: it's poorly done, it's not thought through. The plot makes no sense (Tommy was threatened for meeting Ada once but now she lives in his house and it's not a problem? Do the Odd Fellows know that she's cooled off on Marxism? But it shouldn't even matter, because she still has contacts with the Soviet embassy! And Tommy later even uses them to foil their - unfathomably stupid - plans! And that's just one, minor plotpoint - there are tons of these that just fall apart when you think about them!). The scenes are poorly thought-out, poorly-done and boring. There is alternately too little detail (the Italian boss' wife sure starts off pretty upbeat - was it not her son who's had his throat slashed at the hospital?) or too little subtlety (Izabella could hardly be more blatant about running the operation instead of her husband - while the initial excuse of not wanting to give the papers to him because of the looming vodka is quite clever, later on she handles everything openly with incredible brazenness).

Frankly, in a rather poorly-done season this one takes the anti-cake.
