What the Warner seers are really saying is "Nine lives are not enough for a Loyal Patriotic True Blue Normal Average Union Label Progressive Working Stiff Citizen to overcome the USA's Corrupt Capitalist Corporate Communist Cabal, and the ineffectual 'law men' with whom they're in cahoots." 'Matt' is totally stymied in his campaign to root out these money misers' demonic Evil until he decides to sell his soul to Old Scratch and join the perfidious Pachyderm Political Party ranks, just as his Real Life avatar was doing during the 1940's. The savvy Warner clairvoyants sniff out Matt's Real Life successful White House run 40 years in advance, and try to head off a decade of Iran Hostage October Surprise, hypocritical Union Busting and Iran-Contra carnage with NINE LIVES ARE NOT ENOUGH. But a gullible America responded by defiantly bellowing "101 disaster alerts and declarations of doom are not enough to prevent us from galloping with the lemmings off our cliff!"
