assignment needs some more work
6 June 2021
After studying the world's religious prophecies, Sadie Mitchell is sure that the world is ending in 30 days and everybody is getting tired of her. She is desperate to get anybody to prep for the inevitable. She has a survivalist checklist and two main goals remaining. She has to get back together with former best friend Brennan so that she wouldn't be a lone survivor. Second, she needs her first kiss with a boy. Jack Diaz befriends the odd lonely girl.

The lead girl is good although the best friend needs a bigger personality. The boy is good enough. As a teen drama, it has the kids and the melodrama. I do like the initial premise. The issue with the movie is the issue with Sadie. I don't see the real issue with her. She's an obsessed prepper but that does not automatically make her a social outcast. It doesn't explain completely her disconnection with Brennan. I don't know why she can't walk certain places in the school. The movie doesn't explain a lot of her issues. Does she have OCD? She's obsessed but it can't be all her problems. I don't see how she's isolated. She would be the queen of preppers and her report is perfectly fine for the assignment. It's a good premise but it needs some more thoughts on what it actually means. Quite frankly, the school counsellor would meet her to make sure that she's not suicidal. Maybe she doesn't want to walk in certain places at school because she had traumatic incidences there. This movie needs the writers to work through a few things before handing in the assignment.
