It took a few episodes to get a groove, but then it did and I didn't want it to end! The kids carry a good chunk of the show and they do it well! They have great comedic timing!
Katharine McPhee shines in this! It was so awesome seeing her be so expressive, quick, and loud/dramatic in her mannerisms and speech...nailing a southern accent every step of the way! Normally you see her in dramas where she has been much more subdued, so I wasn't sure what to expect. She definitely impressed me! And of course, her vocals are incredible.
I wish Netflix had given it a bigger first season to let the characters, the relationships, and the story develop a bit more...even if they had extended it from 10 episodes to 13. It just felt a tad rushed, but I loved it nonetheless! Praying it gets renewed for a second season!
