All he sacrificed was just to help Marshall pay his bills and make Ted's dream come true. But what they did to him? They both betrayed him and didn't even hesitate. Their jobs were got from Barney and they used this advantage against him for money and a stupid girlfriend? They did not even care if Barney would be fires because of them or not. How selfish and ungrateful it is! I don't think they really treat Barney as one of their best friends.
