After a more or less enjoyable sixth season, anything can be seen as an improvement. Season 7 premiere clearly shows the series is on a lighter and simplified path, Barbas is finally vanquished (to writers defense, he was really overstaying his welcome), no future/parallel universe shtick (that complicated things for no reasons), even Rose McGowan is trying to go back to her natural hair color. What remains are that annoying Sheridan inspector, Darryl « The ingrate », and Phoebe's insane storylines. Piper and Leo being possessed by Hindu gods, was a fun and original way to go back to the monster of the week format. And him going crazy, after what happened during season 6 finale, make for interesting upcoming moments this season, and a plot that might actually stick this time.
