LEAVE IT TO THE WRITERS AT WARNER BROTHERS
4 December 2020
Great stuff from a great studio that had a roster of superb talent both in front of and behind the camera. Case in point, TWO SECONDS, with the magnificent Edward G. Robinson who basically is the whole show playing a condemned man who relives the events of his life that put him on death row, only the catch is that he's about to be executed. Clever writing in its day that is still worth watching after all these years, just to catch the talent in making this medium budget production. A special nod to Vivienne Osbourne whose career was a short one, but she gave some of her best performances as a woman with a 'plan' that usually lead to the downfall of her male counterpart. You have to hand it to Warners as they had a roster of some of the finest actors in the business, not only stars, but terrific character actors and a score of ingenious writers who churned out some very imaginative scripts in their day. A salute to this great studio and one of its fine productions that is still growing strong and on dvd for another generation to enjoy.
