I wish they would have said what the main character's mental health issues are, I probably would have understood his quirks better. The fact that his mother drops him off in the middle of NYC and leaves him there says something to that annoying quality of the title character. They also generalize Midwesterners somewhat.
His being a caregiver for a young person was at times cringeworthy and other times adorable. Those parents were either cheap or completely desperate.
the writing, supporting characters, and editing were good.
The Leatherman fantasy was weirdly funny, again what is wrong with the main character?
I watched to the end it is a touching, good story. Don't know who I would recommend this movie to but would watch again.
