Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame is the 5th episode of season 3, so far its been a bunch of great episodes with incredible world building. Last episode we saw Daniel Strand kill the ruthless leader of the Gonzalez Dam, and now a more generous and empathic leader stepped up and its Lola Guerrero who got introduced in the previous episode. Another community and its leader Qaletaqa Walker is introduced in this episode, he is one of the antagonist of the season but the truth is this season is very Grey so there's no good or bad guys, which is another reason why I love this season. They have now established most characters, so the native americans want Otto's land as it used to be their people's whilst the Dam controls the water which is an important part.

There's a lot of character development in this episode, and finally some great development for one of my favorite characters which is Alicia. We really get to see another side of her, the one from the old world and it just makes us see how much she have changed. There's also a relationship in the works, will it develop further between Alicia and Jake? Alycia's performance was great and so was many others, the actors for Jake and Troy also was great and as I said in a previous review they are rightfully cast. But what we do know is that Qaletaqa Walker and his group was the one who shot down the helicopter in episode 2 so they indirectly killed the goddaughter of Jeremiah Otto and killed Travis.

The previous episode lacked action except for its ending, this episode has lots of walker kills and action, good action. These shows have always been zombie dramas, good ones at that. The musical score, sound editing and cinematography are again incredible. Daniel Sharman is a fantastic actor that gives life to Troy, remarkable performance. Daniel Stamm did a great job at directing this episode, it was a great one that builds further on the characters and overall plot.
