Liz Meets Agoraphobia!
31 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
IZombie is on all a roll! It looks like I'm in the series for the long haul after the delightful "Virtual Reality Bites." Even though I am not familiar with Rob Thomas's Veronica Mars, I see why that show was so popular. Thomas and Diane Ruggiero plus the writers develop interesting, creative ideas to inject in their characters each episode. This episode, Liv embraces an agoraphobic persona and she allows Ravi to help her with this episode's case because he is such a gamer. The look on his face as he becomes immersed in the world of gaming, which I do not know much about myself. Also, Blaine! He is prevalent here and if no one caught he is the main evil guy yet...well it becomes public now. His conversations are light but menacing with almost everyone he interacted. Clive almost became Blaine's next menu item with his poking and prodding. Yeah, things are going well!

In the previous episode, Major was brutally assaulted by the figure known as "The Candyman." Fortunately, he survived and has Ravi to thank for stitching him up (not before Liv casually mentioning Frankenstein). Major, Ravi, and Liv discover that he has close ties with Blaine. Clive also begins to make some connections and questions Blaine at the Meat Cute when it is discovered a delivery boy was killed by one of Blaine's clients. As for the case of the week, Liv is forced to eat a rotten brain of a hacker who was poisoned from a birthday cake. She recruits Ravi and his knowledge of gaming to help solve the case. This brain also gives her agoraphobia. Lowell Tracey is back in the picture and is completely understanding of Liv's mood swings. How sweet!

Overall, this is yet another fantastic episode. David Anders is a delight playing evil. He shows no mercy on his zombie client in a scene that was so much fun...and so hard to watch. If the ending is any indication, he will play a deeper role in Liv's life in the near future. Especially if Liv's mother gets her way and has Liv's brother, Evan working at the Meat Cute. Like that will go well for all parties involved.
