I like it,I don't understand the hate towards this version.

I like the 1981 BBC version,I don't much like the film version. Watching this again I am impressed,better than I recall. Great cast,Scott is a convincing hero but his career has not made much progress recently. Joely Richardson is very good in this. Eddie Izzard a convincing baddie. One non IMDB reviewer describes this production as epic,I agree,big budget,looks great,even the small parts well acted. It does not make the mistake of just being set in London. gives this a shot if you have never seen it,you might love it.
