I am a little astonished with the positive reviews for this movie - C'mon guys, this is a really badly made movie. The concept was great, recreating 80s atmosphere - but the movie completely missed the plot. The actors were really great - but when you have a weak script, what more can the actors do?
Like I said earlier, this has been copied from a German film - Goodbye Lenin which I must have seen 7 years back. In Goodbye Lenin, the son and daughter recreate 80s East Germany (before unification) for their mother who was in a comma when the Berlin Wall broke. The effort that went into recreating that atmosphere in the movie was breathtaking, music was outstanding - whereas Doordarshan relied on silly double meaning jokes to get some smiles. Come on Mr. DIRECTOR and SCRIPTWRITER - please put in more effort, I am sure you can do better.
