Review of Big Meat Eater

6/10
dilly horror from 1982

The film starts with a town meeting, and then we see a floor show of belly dancer girls, down in the boiler room... hmm. When Abdulla the maintenance guy (Clarence Miller) finishes singing, he gets fired, and starts pushing people into the furnace. and then he gets a job at Bob's butcher shop (of course!). he even sings while he works! and then... aliens show up, looking for a food source. nice transition. it's a musical, so there are numbers every couple minutes. when "Jan" shows Bob around the lab, Jan ( Andrew Gillies) breaks into song, and it kind of looks like a Devo music vid. sooooo.. Bob goes to a fortune teller, who keeps saying Meet your Fate ! and accordions.. .no-one said there would be accordions! it's all kind of fun if you just sit back and don't worry too much about plot. Directed by chris windsor... only thing he has listed here on imdb; this won a "Genie" award, whatever that is. wacky. campy, silly fun.
