Goober is an interesting character. On the one hand, he is a total idiot with no human interaction skills. On the other, he is a master mechanic, capable of doing body work, fixing engines, virtually anything the comes up. He would be irreplaceable. Yet all we see is him pumping gas and putting air in tires. When the opportunity comes to buy the station, he doesn't know anything about finances or the running of a business. The scene in the bank where he doesn't understand even the most basic banking terms is embarrassing. Nevertheless, he perseveres.
