Color Me Unimpressed
13 December 2019
When you have over 140 movies to your credit you're bound to lay an egg at some time. This one from Jackie Chan was an egg for him. Now, that's not to say it is horrible, it just wasn't at the level of what he's capable of. Not that it's his fault, he doesn't make the movies, he just plays in them.

The conflict in this movie was rather bland. His schoolmate and professed brother betrayed him and the school. He also went on to help a convict break free. Jackie set out to find his brother and bring him back around. Of course, that required fighting a master of kung fu.

The final fight lasted about 17 minutes (I know because I checked), 14 minutes longer than it needed to be. Large parts of the fight didn't even resemble kung fu. He got kicked around and beat up for minutes on end while an older shifty guy coached him and played referee. Jackie is famous for clowning around, but every once in a while the clowning goes so far that that's all he's being is a clown. For this movie, color me unimpressed.
