Even though the players reenacting Norman Lear shows aren't bad, they can't hold a candle to the original cast

Warning: Spoilers
For the most part, I enjoyed Jimmy Kimmel's take on having two Norman Lear shows-"All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons"-and having current actors portraying those iconic characters though no one can replace the originals, that's for sure! Marisa Tomei came off best with her Edith Bunker sounding quite like a Queens woman. Woody Harrelson wasn't as good doing Archie Bunker though maybe I'm too used to Carroll O'Connor's characterization. Jamie Foxx is good at impersonating Sherman Hemsley for his George Jefferson but since he's not quite Sherman's size, his tallness doesn't really do the character justice. But really, does anyone really expect anything more concerning any of the other actors playing these iconic characters? That's why at least it's a real treat seeing Marla Gibbs reprising in the role that made her career: eventual Jefferson's maid Florence Johnston. She still does those lines justice especially her last one at the end of her ep. Also liked Jennifer Hudson's version of "Movin' On Up", ditto Harrelson and Tomei's take on "Those Were the Days" especially the latter's screeching at the end! So on that note, I really enjoyed this version of Lear's shows and what a treat to see him intro this special from Archie's chair! P.S. What a treat to see Ms. Gibbs reunited with her "227" co-star Jackee Harry here!
