Coping in the Midst of a Zombie Apocalypse
18 March 2019
This film begins several months after a zombie apocalypse with two men named "Ed" (North Roberts) and "Matt" (Matthew E. Prochazka) driving a car on an isolated road somewhere in the Great Plains on an extremely cold winter day. As it so happens, while driving they see a man who goes by the name of "Joe" (Christian Rogala) running toward them and upon picking him up learn that he has been chased by zombies. Yet rather than having any sympathy for his situation they kill him and then butcher his body before taking it to a house to trade for cans of food. The film then segues in to various other interconnected scenes involving--not just Ed and Matt--but also other people and how they cope with the zombie apocalypse in this specific part of the country. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was one of 8 zombies movies contained on a 2-dvd set titled "Extreme Zombies Movie Collection" which I purchased some time ago but just got around to viewing. And as far as low-budget zombie films are concerned this particular one wasn't too bad all things considered. Although I didn't especially care for some of the characters or the ending necessarily, the acting wasn't too bad and the film managed to keep my attention for the most part as well. That being said, while certainly not a great zombie movie by any means, it was good enough for the time spent and I have rated it accordingly. Average.
