Everlasting (2016)
9/10
Sweet, Sad, and Thrilling
7 February 2019
Everlasting is a thriller about a high school student named Matt whose girlfriend is murdered while she is away in L.A. to start her modeling career. Matt decides to use his filmmaking skills he's learning at school to help piece together what happened to his girlfriend and document his journey to L.A. to try to find the killer.

Everlasting has a VERY good cast, particularly for an indie film. The film is very well acted and you'll recognize a lot of faces in Everlasting. The two young leads are very good and carry the film, while others like Michael Massee, Robert LaSardo, Bai Ling, and Pat Healy are excellent in supporting roles. The film manages to effectively balance a sweetness and sadness in the young couple's relationship, while also dealing with some dark subject matter in the girl's death. I also appreciated the surprising twists and turns at the end of the film. I actually involuntarily yelled out "Oh my God" at the tv while watching the ending of the film haha.

I'd highly recommend Everlasting to anyone!
