Ash vs Evil Dead: DUI (2016)
Season 2, Episode 4
7/10
Car-nage.
2 February 2019
This episode opens as the last one closed, with Brock's head splattered all over the road like a ripe watermelon. Ash makes a futile effort to piece his old mans mangled head together, but the possessed Delta returns to make even more of a mess.

Director Michael J. Bassett then abandons the gore in favour of action, as Ruby and Kelly arm themselves and go looking for Ruby's evil spawn, and Ash pursues his car to the town's Demolition Derby arena for a final showdown. The pace is frenetic and the thrills well handled by Bassett, especially Ash's battle with his demonic car, our hero leaping onto the hood of the vehicle and thrusting his chainsaw into it. To be honest, though, I did find myself longing for some severed limbs or decapitated deadites to punctuate the screeching of wheels and the roaring of the Delta's engine. Unfortunately, Episode 4 is a fairly dry affair, one that ends with Pablo opening a portal and casting the Necronomicon into Hell. Is that a good idea? I'm guessing probably not.
