Dagwood, the preeminent ladies man
28 November 2018
Voluptuous movie star Vivian Valentine (Barbara Nichols, "Sweet Smell of Success) is in town. Her press agent/manager, Stanley Jackson (Eddie Ryder) concocts a way to plug her picture by picking a prominent man and saying he and Vivian were once high school sweethearts who she still loves. They pick the president of the junior chamber of commerce- Dagwood. When the news is leaked to the newspaper Dagwood tries to remember her. His desire to want it to be true leads him to think it is so, inventing his own stories. The newspaper story leaves Dagwood the envy of men and the attraction of women. Mr. Dithers makes Dagwood temporary vice president while Vivian is in town, as a means of publicity for his company. Dagwood begins finding the situation has increasing demands. Blondie is worried about a promoted kiss Vivian is to give Dagwood on stage. The big kiss may have an unexpected effect.

The plot languished, but Blondie's character showed more heart at times with a better ending than most.
