I was rather surprised by this episode, after being greatly disappointed by the others except for my favorite first episode. The ending was realistic. They don't have to fall in love with each other. They ended up with a friendship that was perfect for the moment and the place they were at in their own lives. It was a slow, contemplative piece that was centered on his heritage and his love for his country that overshadowed the focus on the Romanoffs. The mediocrity that was felt was a reflection of him. He was a mediocre journalist, and he knew it. Hell, his boss knew it and told him as well. He now needed to make hard decisions about his life and where it was going from that moment of realization and on. The music at the end was haunting and beautiful. She could have been better in her role. The boy in the wheelchair was more convincing as an actor than her.
