Warning: Spoilers
In a flashback to fourteen years ago, we learn that J.T. could not gain a stay of execution for an innocent man. At the time, J.T. was working with Billy at the Copperman law firm. The prosecutor on whose conscience the innocent man was executed was the future Judge Wallace. This led to J.T.'s breakdown and career change.

While there were "surprises" in this episode, the violence was so excessive that the viewer is left only with sadness. After Roman has done the right thing, he, his wife, and his children are murdered by the man with the prosthetic hand. After Julio has finally been exonerated, he is killed in prison by an insider working for the cartel with a "confession" written on the blackboard.

The episode alternates between these two events and the time Billy and Marisol are spending with her psychopathic "brother" Gabriel. There is a festive occasion with Paz and Mercedes celebrated as young women coming of age at the home of their "godfather," Gabriel, who places silver slippers on the feet of the two Cinderellas.

We learn that Marisol's real name is Claudia, and she has a most unhealthy relationship with Gabriel. A revealing moment comes when a nun is filled with disgust at the sight of Marisol/Claudia.

When Billy learns by phone the news of both Roman and Julio, grabs a bottle and heads into the vineyards. In this beautiful setting, it is clear that Billy is being set up for the kill.
