This was a superb episode of ER that I just watched! Outstanding and as i had said in the second episode review, John Carter still remains to be my favorite character!

Sometimes I feel like I look at him and can see how I feel in that scene. How hard he takes a patients death, especially. He feels life harder than the next person. His smiles really create a moment of genuine fun or humor. He is truly funny and imo a character that is absolutely necessary for this show to allow comic relief and also to see the show through his eyes. Hes just a good human being plain and simple.

Where as Dr. Benton is a complicated arrogant jerk but with issues going on inside that maybe repressed. Hes also necessary to be THAT guy that every show has.

Throughout this episode I felt how we think of doctors in a hospital as performing truly heroic stuff, but we're reminded how it's just really a job for most of them as Dr. Greene gets the gift from a patient he saved in the past. But I know that's how I look at my past surgeon, like he was bigger than life and responsible for saving it. He did, though it may be his job, he still did one hell of a good one. So, I think its important to let someone know that their going their job really good. I know Dr. Bennet would love to hear those words!

When Dr. Susan lewis had Bennet checking a patient, he argued with her and walked off.

What a pleasure to see how Susan Lewis was right all along but also this is what makes Bennet a complicated character because he stepped up and admitted Lewis told him and he took the fall for not warranting taking stronger measures..instead of how he said it was a waste of time of the OR. He does things like this to redeem himself often.

For e.g. with william h Macy (sorry dont know all the doctors names yet first watch) he told a patients wife that it was all the doctors doing when really he made the call and possibly saved the patients life. At the time no one seemed to care what was going on but him so he started surgery. Then Macy intervened and finished it wrapping a bow around it. Yet, he still said he barely helped it was all the doctor and he was a great doctor. He turned around and boom---the doctor Macy is standing right behind him. That moment redeems him for being an a hole usually and also being a shoulder for a man to cry on after he tells him his wife dies. So it makes me believe the a hole he presents to everyone is all a mask to cover his insecurities.

I could be wrong maybe he is really just an a hole! But when I heard in this episode that he gave Carter the worst average grading he could, I felt...that mans an asshole! Carter goes out of his way to really spend time and listen and care about the patients. I know it does a long way.

We see for a fact that Susan lewis and mark greene have a "thing" and I'm happy because shes beautiful and seems (despite her choice in a dude) like a good women. Also shes beautiful
