An emergency on his hands
9 June 2018
Eric Fleming has a big emergency on his hand. There's a prarie fire to the rear of his trail herd and has to find a river crossing shallow enough to put his cattle over before the fire overtakes them. Riding ahead he arrives at a smokehouse where Leif Erickson runs a tannery. There's Erickson's wife Vera Miles and a hired hand John Agar. Soon enough they're joined by an itinerant photographer Jack Weston.

But they are also joined by Gene Evans and his outlaw band who are being hunted by an army posse because they robbed an army payroll and killed several to do it. Evans sends Favor out for his moll Allison Hayes who is holding the loot while the others are hostages.

A nice all star cast makes this one enjoyable. Also present are J. Pat O"Malley as another tanner Erickson hires on and Lane Bradford and Harry Dean Stanton as part of Evans's outlaw gang.

A must for fans of the Rawhide series.
