Truly touching to watch.

Tommy Sands plays a very frustrated young man. He is a stutterer and because of that he's having a hard time finding work. So, in desperation, his mother sneaks off to talk to a perspective employer to explain the situation and beg them to give her son a chance. You assume instantly it won't work. After all, the boss is played by Simon Oakland...an actor who almost always plays an angry guy in need of some serious medication! However, he does have a heart and agrees to consider the young man. And, he's fortunate he did, as the guy proves to be a genuinely decent guy...and slowly he blossoms in this job in the mailroom. However, it things went along like this throughout, then there wouldn't be any controversy and the show would be dull. Trust me on this, "The Inner Panic" is never dull and is one of the better teleplays I've ever seen...with some lovely acting and writing...and a story that really touches your heart.
