If you love the book, prepare for somewhat of a disappointment.

The amount of time I waited to finally see this movie! Loved the book and was really hoping I'd love the movie as much (foolish, I know), which obviously didn't happen, hence only 6/10. Not sure what I'm about to say counts as spoilers, but hey, better safe than sorry! It really felt like it was lacking something. Quite a few things that I really wanted to see depicted on the screen were left out. I understand that they obviously couldn't add everything as the movie would have been hours long, but in my opinion they made wrong choices when choosing what to keep and what not. Everything felt so hurried. I can't even imagine what impression this movie leaves for people who haven't read the book. It must leave so many questions, right!? One main thing that really struck me was how they didn't explain or develop the teacher/student "relationship" at all. Some serious stuff went on in the book which, to me, seemed damn important. Anywho, if you're a reader such as myself, I'd really recommend the book. Might explain some things.
