I love this series, but tonight's portrayal of Coyote's birthmother was seriously off kilter. As a birthmother myself and as someone who has been involved with adoption reform and education for many years, I realize there are few women who are not interested in reunion, but why oh why did your show have to depict the rare one? Those of us who have lost our children to adoption have been giving voice to the realities of adoption for decades now. However, we constantly come up against the stereotyping that is not representative of the experience of a vast majority of birthmothers. I hope that, as your program continues to address the adoption theme, you will consult Concerned United Birthparents to inform your story.
