Warning: Spoilers
Everything goes okey dokey in this republic musical western until an unbelievable Faye McKenzie shows up as a Mexican singer, about as Hispanic looking as Jane Withers. Even with dark hair and makeup, her features do not look anywhere close to any Mexican lady I've ever met. She's paired up with Gene Autry here, striving to break up a racket of powerful con artists who convince innocent hicks to invest their hard earned saved money into a film project that never happens.

The saving grace of this B film is the lavishness, looking pretty A list for Republic, even with its B stars. Autry gets two sidekicks here: paunchy cook Smiley Burnette and English shattering Mexican funny man Duncan Renaldo who has a great way with a malapropism. You can't expect much in the way of substance in these films, but for a film that crosses multiple genres, it's above just average. Action, music, romance and comedy rolled up at the Republic of Herbert Yates, but at least they didnu cast Vera Hruba in the leading female part.
