Before 13/11/15 in Paris...
3 March 2017
As a French, I can't prevent myself to think about the terrible mass killings that happened in Paris on November Friday the 13rd, Black Friday, in the Bataclan theatre, and not only...I guess this Indian movie will not be released in France, at least not now. And certainly not shown to people who survived the killings in France. You have here unbearable scenes, where even children are slaughtered, in bloody slow motion sequences. For another film, a cheap feature, I would say these sequences are purely gratuitous. But all this stuff is so realistic, till that policeman who slips on a blood paddle. This is however an astounding piece of work. But, I repeat, this movie could be falsely considered as a sort of defence of terrorism. The highlight and delight of massive killings. But this is of course not the message. I nevertheless hope this film will one day be watchable in France, on DVD or aired on a channel. But not on prime time !!! A masterpiece for me, as powerful, although different, as ELEPHANT.
